WITH LOVE - Matthew 5:44 But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray
for those who persecute you, Luke 6:28 bless those who curse you, pray
for those who mistreat you.
WITH HUMILITY - Matthew 6:6 But when you pray, go into your room,
close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father,
who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. Luke 18:10-14 "Two men
went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: 'God, I thank you that
I am not like other men--robbers, evildoers, adulterers--or even like
this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.'
"But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up
to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.'
"I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified
before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who
humbles himself will be exalted."
WITHOUT BABBLING - Matthew 6:7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling
like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
WITH ALERTNESS - Matthew 26:41 "Watch and pray so that you will not
fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak." Luke
22:46 "Why are you sleeping?" he asked them. "Get up and pray so that
you will not fall into temptation."
WITH FRIENDS - Luke 9:28 About eight days after Jesus said this, he
took Peter, John and James with him and went up onto a mountain to pray.
WITH THE SPIRIT’S HELP - Romans 8:26 In the same way, the Spirit helps
us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the
Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.
1 Corinthians 14:15 So what shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, but
I will also pray with my mind; I will sing with my spirit, but I will
also sing with my mind. Ephesians 6:18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions
with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and
always keep on praying for all the saints.
WITH JOY - Philippians 1:4 In all my prayers for all of you, I always
pray with joy.
WITH CONSISTENCY - Acts 1:14 They all joined together constantly in
prayer, Romans 12:12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful
in prayer. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray continually.
WITH FAITH - Matthew 21:22 If you believe, you will receive whatever
you ask for in prayer."
WITH FERVENCY - Luke 22:44 And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly,
and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground. Acts 2:5
So Peter was kept in prison, but the church was earnestly praying to God
for him. Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he
rewards those who earnestly seek him.
